Documents

This is Francis Marion's signiature on the original
muster roll of South Carolina's 2nd Regiment.
A muster roll is a document that lists all of the men and officers in a military unit. Francis Marion was the Lt. Colonel of South Carolina at the date this document was signed. This is before  he became famous in the Revolutionary War. The document was signed in 1778.

Another portrait of Marion done in ink.

  1. Lots of interesting stuff here. I'll be interested to how some of this pops up in your paper.

  2. What I particularly love about your blog is that it includes vast amounts of information organized into an easily readable and interesting manor. I am not one who typically would be interested in history, much less about the American Revolution, but you have interested me in Francis Marion. I think the style that you have used is great at creating interest for Marion and that it has been really well thought out.

  3. I really liked that you look up to Francis Marion for his faults. Most people are writing only about the positive aspects of their role models, and you're venturing out to include the not-so-great ones. I really like that idea and feel it's unique. Good luck!
